A 7-day visual adventure through Southern Tuscany — from the iconic hills of Val d’Orcia to the wild beauty of Giglio Island. We’ll stay in San Quirico, the Maremma countryside, and Giglio itself, capturing sunrise landscapes, ancient villages, coastal light, and thermal springs.
This workshop blends photography, slow travel, and connection: perfect for those who want to improve their creative vision while discovering the authentic, quieter side of Tuscany.
Each participant will have a personal video call with me before the trip, to talk about their experience, expectations, and personal goals.

📸 Day 1 – Welcome to Val d’Orcia (Base: San Quirico or Pienza)

Arrival in southern Tuscany, one of Italy’s most iconic landscapes. After check-in and a relaxed introduction with the group, we’ll head out for a golden hour shoot among the rolling hills, cypress-lined roads, and golden fields.
The day ends with a welcome aperitivo and dinner in a traditional trattoria — the perfect chance to get to know each other and go over the program.

📸 Day 2 – Cypress Roads & Renaissance Charm

At sunrise, we’ll chase the soft morning light across the countryside, visiting iconic spots like Podere Belvedere or the Gladiator Road near Pienza.
After breakfast, we explore Pienza, the “ideal city” of the Renaissance — perfect for architectural compositions, detail shots, and storytelling.
In the afternoon, we take time to rest or edit, before heading out for a sunset session with sweeping views over the Val d’Orcia.

📍Day 3 – From Valleys to Steam: Saturnia & the Maremma (Base: Saturnia or Orbetello)

Then we are going to move south toward the Maremma region, with a stop at scenic viewpoints along the way. In the afternoon, we visit the magical Cascate del Mulino in Saturnia, where steaming thermal waters cascade over limestone terraces — a rare chance to experiment with slow shutter effects, textures, and vapor in natural light.
Optional: a relaxing soak after dark in the warm water, under the stars.

📍Day 4 – Orbetello Lagoon & Coastal Light

We spend the day exploring the quieter charm of the Tuscan coast. After a slow morning, we head to Orbetello Lagoon, home to mirror-like waters, long shadows, and dramatic skies — an ideal setting for minimalist and moody compositions.
We’ll photograph the sunset over the lagoon, looking for reflections, silhouettes, and birds in flight. Optional wine tasting or a rustic lunch inland, depending on the day’s rhythm.

📍Day 5 – Ferry to Giglio Island + Seaside Colors (Base: Giglio Island)

A change of pace as we ferry from Porto Santo Stefano to Giglio Island — one of Tuscany’s best-kept secrets.
In the afternoon, we explore Giglio Porto, a colorful harbor town with pastel facades, fishing boats, and narrow streets that lend themselves to street photography and layered compositions.
We’ll finish the day with a sunset shoot on the coast, where rugged rocks meet deep blue sea, followed by a fresh seafood dinner by the water.

📍Day 6 – Castle Views & Island Nature

We head uphill to the stunning Giglio Castello, a walled medieval village perched high above the sea. Here, stone alleys, panoramic views, and quiet corners offer countless opportunities for intimate shots and wide landscapes.
Optional: a light hike to a lighthouse or hidden bay in the afternoon.
Later, we’ll take time to review your best shots, talk editing and style, and finish the day with one final golden hour session on the island.

After a slow breakfast and a last walk through the port, we ferry back to the mainland. Group drop-off at the nearest train station or agreed location.
You’ll leave with new friends, a stronger eye for photography, and a portfolio full of Tuscan light and memories.

📍Day 7 – Farewell + Return to the Mainland

MATTEO TORRE

Rome, my city, is undoubtedly one of the first loves of my life, I know stories, alleys, small and big secrets that very often leave even the Romans speechless.

Yet, Puglia! A region I fell in love with, in which I traveled and which I know very well. For this reason, it is precisely here that I decided to structure this photographic workshop, traveling through some of the most iconic and wonderful places on the coast, going to discover amazing landscapes, nice small villages, or famous Baroque cities.
