An hour north of Rome, everything changes. The crowds disappear. Ancient volcanic craters hold deep blue lakes. Medieval villages perch on cliffs like they've always been there.
We'll spend the day exploring two places most travelers never hear about. Calcata sits on volcanic rock, accessible only through a medieval gate. It became an artists' village in the 1960s, which means unexpected color and creative life around every corner. Then Anguillara, cascading down to Lago di Bracciano, where medieval stone meets lakefront calm.
This is private—just your group and me. We take our time. I'll share the stories behind these places, the history that makes them matter, the details that give them character. And while we explore, I'll photograph your day. Candid moments, genuine expressions, the kind of images that capture how it actually felt to be there.

You'll want comfortable shoes for walking and exploring. Both villages involve hills and stairs, but nothing extreme. Bring a sense of adventure and we'll handle the rest.
Lunch isn't included, but I know the right places when hunger hits.
